Technology is evolving at such a rapid pace it’s hard to imagine how to determine just what will be ‘the hot technology’ in five years.

And as mobile continues to be popular, trends indicate the number of mobile-connected devices will exceed the number of people on earth by the end of 2012.

So what will happen?

Can mobile overtake laptops and be the primary way to access the Internet?

Will apps become extinct as online content becomes configured for the iPad experience?

Does the localized niche experience continue to grow in popularity while the promise of broad Internet search results continues?

As a Mobile Strategist at the U.S. Department of State I work every day to understand and interpret the technology and communication trends that impact our lives and I will be musing about this fascinating topic.

I will also talk about an array of culture, fashion and beauty trends to show how the worlds of technology and culture bump into each other to create something new right before our eyes.
